Becoming The Best We Can Be

Reading Challenge

This year the Summer Reading Challenge is online. It’s free to join and parents and carers can sign up their children at sillysquad.org.uk. Children set their own reading challenge for the summer and as they read they collect digital rewards. They can read any books they like; this can include ones they have at home, or if they are members of the library, they can download free eBooks and eAudio from Oxfordshire Libraries.

The Silly Squad website is bursting at the seams with content. There are games, a reading club and a book sorter with over a million books added!

There is also a Home Zone where families can find out more about the challenge, how to take part and how to make space for reading this summer.

For even more activity ideas, go the Summer Reading Challenge Facebook page. There are author and illustrator videos, free books to review and competitions to enter.
